WESTERN PORT CONSERVATION INSPECTION TRIP
 
Saturday 14th of May 2022, a group of Rotarians lead by Captain Dick Cox OAM departed from Tooradin on the Tidemaster charter boat to inspect the Western Port conservation area.
 
Our objective is to regenerate the seagrass and mangroves along the coast of Western Port to prevent further wave erosion and to improve the water quality.
 
A briefing about the objective was presented by International Rotarian Vic Grosjean, Seagrass Expert Hugh Kirkman, Head of the Western Port Seagrass Program Greg Parry, and Captain Cox helped to give the attendees a deeper understanding of the program and its importance, Also in attendance was Past Rotary International President Ian Riseley and District Governor Bill Degnan.
