Founded in 1911, the Rotary motto is Service Before Self.

For over a century this has guided the organisation to grow into a global network of more than 1.2 million Rotarians in over 200 countries.  Rotarians come from all walks of life and bring the widest variety of skills and experience to work on problems facing their communities.

Our club supports young people participating in a number of national and state based Rotary youth programs including:

•National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) – an enhanced science-based youth camp for Year 11s
•Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) – a seven day residential course for young adult emerging leaders
•Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA) – Year 11s debate world issues in a weekend ‘UN General Assembly’

In the past we have been involved in:

•Constructing the BBQ shelter on Tyabb Central Reserve
•Building the boardwalk in Beek Beek Reserve Somerville
•Planting the Somerville Christmas Tree
•Being part of the Somerville ‘Reading for Life’ program
